YK Glass Frosting Powder
Glass is made from a mixture of sand , sodium carbonate and limestone. After heating the mixture to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit and all materials melt together, when it cool, solid glass forms. Once a rare and prized art, manufacturing glass has become a common industry. Normal glass is transparent and smooth on its surface, to improve its decoration, people make designs on glass surface and process it to get translucent visual effect, which is named as frosted glass or etched glass. Sandblasting:
In the past, it takes emery and water, with an iron tool, to rub the emery with water on glass surface constantly to get the translucent visual effect. But it takes a lot of time and labor to get a rough but not smooth frosted glass. Nowadays, although there are more advanced sandblasting machine to get better design on glass surface and take less time & labor in production, its frosted glass surface is rough, and not all curve glass products could be done with this machine.
Etching/ Frosting:
It is fit for the etching processing of all soda-lime glass products, no limit on glass shapes. The technology is that, make the designs on glass surface as requirement, and print the anti-corrosive ink as the protective layer, then immerse glass into etching solution, which will react with the glass surface without protective layer to get the frosted effect, then clean and remove the protective layer after etching processing. Comparing with sandblasting technology, this glass surface is opaque, even and smooth.

SATIN-LIKE effect:

Anti-Glare frosted effect:
The frosted layer is thin and smooth, with even and tiny frosted grain appearance, which remove the mirror effect in light, make the visual much clearer and more natural. This effect is mainly for glass sheet processing to get anti-glare effect, which is almost apply to display glass, frame glass, showcase in museum, and household decorations,etc.
Common anti-fingerprint frosted effect:
Besides the specialty of satin-like effect glass, it is anti-fingerprint, so it is also named dust-proof frosted glass. All soda-lime glass, including glass sheet, and various shapes of glass containers, lights, art glass can be processed to get this effect. While it is also widely used as satin-like effect glass do on market.
Oil-sand shining frosted effect:
Besides smooth and even appearance, the frosted grain can be feel easily when touch it, no fingerprint on it when hands off. What is more attractive, the frosted glass surface shines in light just like diamonds, with its obscurity, which feels new but comfortable. This effect is processed with YK-IX series glass frosting powder, the shining effect glass is named as “ glass from far-wary star”. Ice-snow frosted effect:
